Laila Dance Conservatory
Laila Dance Conservatory specializes in what it terms "Dance of the Diaspora" a perspective arising from an understanding of the "genealogy" of dance which illustrates that dance knows no cultural boundaries. What this means for students is an opportunity to discover relevance in the art form as well as a personal cultural connection, and an appreciation of how dance demonstrates human relatedness.
LDC artists are available to collaborate with teachers to tailor programs to individuals school or student body needs, (K-12).
Laila Dance Conservatory can provide:
Dance Technique Classes in Ballet, Modern (Dunham) and a variety of culturally focused styles.
Workshops that integrate movement and music with literacy component as well as the California Content Standards for Dance.
Professional Development Sessions that are designed to supplement and support any or all of the above.
Professional Performances, lecture-Demonstration, and student performance opportunities.
